Today my mom and I thought it would be a great idea to go to the library. It is hot out in Virgnia, and we knew that it would be nice and cool in the air conditioning. We brought both of my parents' dogs and my very own furry friend, Freddy, to a doggy day camp to play with other dogs. Then we continued on to a city named Richmond, Virginia. We went to a great big library called The Library of Virginia. We read through many history books to learn about what Virginia was like when our ancestors lived there. Ancestors are family members from long ago...like your grandma's grandma! I never got to know these family members, so it was really neat to read about them in the books. There were SO MANY BOOKS! I hope that you have gone for a visit to your local library this summer! Do not forget that many libraries have summer programs with prizes!
