Ms. Tricarico with her Uncle Mike in his media space |
Today I had the chance to visit the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. My Aunt Betty and my cousin Blair met me there early in the morning to join in the fun. My Uncle Mike works at the Science Museum of Virginia as the Digital Media Specialist. He is super smart when it comes to computers, iPads, videos, photos and so many other things! I had the chance to check out his media space which had many video cameras, TVs, iPads and computers. He taught me about some cool apps I can use on an iPad for school starting in September. I just have to see if I can get some iPads for the classroom before then! If anyone has an iPad or iPod Touch they are willing to donate, please let me know!
Besides being able to get a behind-the-scenes look at Uncle Mike's space, there were some other really neat things at the museum. I touched a snake, I balanced on a tightrope, I did some experiments and I watched rats play basketball. YES! You read it right...rats played basketball! See?
Have you been to any museums this summer? Did you know that many libraries will loan you museum passes so that you can go for free? Watch the video below for how to get a museum pass from the Somerset County Library System.
